Sun-Warmed Terracotta. Folk Bloom. A Garden at the Table.

    Latin Botanical

    The Story

The Latin Botanical Collection draws its spirit from long sun-drenched afternoons in the Mediterranean and beyond. Think wandering the winding stone streets of Ibiza Old Town as the church bells echo softly above you, terracotta pots overflowing with olive branches and wild bougainvillea, and tables tucked beneath ancient trees where lunch slowly drifts into evening. There are touches of Mallorca, Mexico City, and Brazil woven throughout too — places where color, warmth, music, and conversation seem to linger long after the sun has gone down.

Rich pomegranates, weathered terracotta, olive groves shimmering in the heat, faded linen dresses, and glazed courtyard tiles inspired the palette of this collection. Every piece is designed to feel layered, storied, and beautifully lived in, as though it has been gathered over decades from little markets, hidden courtyards, and family homes overlooking the sea.

This is mahjong for the long, lingering afternoon. Rioja poured generously into heavy glasses. The scent of citrus and rosemary drifting through warm air. Small plates scattered across the table. Friends arriving slowly, sun-kissed and barefoot from the garden. A shaded patio humming softly with music somewhere in the background. The tiles clicking together as golden light moves across the table and nobody quite remembers what time it is.

The Latin Botanical Collection is an invitation to slow down, gather your favorite people, and lose yourself in the ritual of the table — one more hand, one more story, one more glass of Rioja before sunset.

If you could play mahjong anywhere in the world on a warm summer afternoon, where would your table be set?

Made by hand in the USA

Every tile is meticulously crafted by hand from start to finish in the USA — from the raw acrylic to the final touch.

    Hand-finished, never identical

Every tile passes through American hands many times over — cut, printed, sanded and polished one at a time. Small variations in edge, sheen and depth of colour are part of that: the quiet signature of a hand-finished tile rather than a machine-pressed one. No two sets are ever quite the same, and yours will be unmistakably yours.

Questions about the Latin Botanical set

Every set contains 160 tiles: the full 152-tile American Mahjong (NMJL) Card set, including 8 jokers, plus 8 spare tiles so a lost or damaged tile never retires the set.

    Each tile measures 26 × 36 × 12 mm (1.02″ × 1.42″ × 0.47″) — sized for comfortable American Mahjong play and for racking on a standard rack.

Handmade in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. Each tile is cut from solid pure white acrylic, the original artwork is UV-printed onto the face, and every tile is tumbled, polished, finished and packaged by hand in our Phoenix studio. Because the finishing is done by hand, small variations between tiles are normal and are part of the character of the set.
