Little Sparrow Cabin collection American Mahjong set, with lodge and woodland artwork UV-printed onto hand-finished tiles.

Woodsmoke, Wool Blankets, and a Long Game by the Fire

    Cabin

    The Story

It starts on the drive up. The road narrows, the pines lean in, and the last bar on your phone gives up somewhere in the shade before the turning. Nobody in the car minds. The dog has his head out of the window and has known where we're going since the second cattle grid.

A thunderstorm comes through most afternoons and is gone in twenty minutes. Afterwards the whole place smells of wet pine and warm stone, the porch boards steam a little, and everything is greener than it was an hour ago.

The days fill themselves. A kayak out before the water wakes up, a rod off the end of the dock, a hike up the ridge that takes twice as long as anyone said it would. The chocolate lab swims whether or not anyone asked him to, and shakes himself dry against the nearest pair of legs.

Then the long afternoon on the porch. The tiles come out, the light starts to go, and somebody gets the fire going without being asked. Cocoa on the stove, marshmallows found at the back of a cupboard, s'mores made badly and eaten anyway. The dog gives up on the day and stretches out where the heat is.

One more game. There is always one more game. The fire drops to coals, somebody adds a log rather than admit the evening is over, and the last hand is played to the sound of the wind moving through the pines.

    Care

Keep out of direct sunlight and store in a cool, dry place. Do not use any cleaners or chemicals. Tiles are water-resistant; simply wipe clean with a damp cloth.

Made by hand in the USA

Every tile is meticulously crafted by hand from start to finish in the USA — from the raw acrylic to the final touch.

    Hand-finished, never identical

Every tile passes through American hands many times over — cut, printed, sanded and polished one at a time. Small variations in edge, sheen and depth of colour are part of that: the quiet signature of a hand-finished tile rather than a machine-pressed one. No two sets are ever quite the same, and yours will be unmistakably yours.

    Questions about the Cabin set

Every set contains 160 tiles: the full 152-tile American Mahjong (NMJL) Card set, including 8 jokers, plus 8 spare tiles so a lost or damaged tile never retires the set.

    Each tile measures 26 × 36 × 12 mm (1.02″ × 1.42″ × 0.47″) — sized for comfortable American Mahjong play and for racking on a standard rack.

Handmade in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. Each tile is cut from solid pure white acrylic, the original artwork is UV-printed onto the face, and every tile is tumbled, polished, finished and packaged by hand in our Phoenix studio. Because the finishing is done by hand, small variations between tiles are normal and are part of the character of the set.
